Jimmy Butler feels he let Steph Curry, Warriors down after tearing his ACL
Jimmy Butler cannot wait for the start of the next calendar year.
The Warriors will begin their 2026-2027 NBA season in just a few days, but Butler will not take part in the early portion of the campaign as he recovers from his torn ACL. Butler injured his knee in January, missed the rest of the season, and the Warriors missed the playoffs as a result.

Speaking to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Butler said he felt that he let his superstar teammate Steph Curry and the rest of the Warriors' core down by getting hurt, with the team eager to win another ring for Curry before he retires.

Moses Moody (ruptured left patellar tendon) and Jimmy Butler (right ACL tear) won’t be available to start the season, but the Warriors remain optimistic about getting them back by early 2027, writes Anthony Slater of ESPN.
According to Slater, Moody – who has described his injury as a “best-case scenario” rupture since it was a clean tear from the bone – is considered to be ahead of Butler in their respective rehabs and will likely return first. The current belief, Slater says, is that Moody could be back in December or January, while Butler might be able to play in January or February.
