Documentary on Israel's strikes on Gaza wins Venice special prize
A documentary about Israeli airstrikes killing Palestinian civilians in Gaza won the jury's special prize at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday, with the filmmakers urging Israelis, Europeans and Americans to watch it.
In "NAZA", the two Israeli film-makers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor show anonymized interviews with 24 Israeli intelligence operatives who give detailed insights into their operations. They were interviewed at night on rooftops in Tel Aviv.
"NAZA" is a Hebrew acronym said to be used for counting the number of civilians estimated to be killed in a military strike.
On stage, Abraham spoke of ongoing deadly acts of violence against the Palestinian population, but said much was being done "to not look at reality."
