The dumbest thing any NFL player did in Week 1 of the regular season? That was Stefon Diggs, who was guilty of a clownish touchdown celebration that cost his team – perhaps dearly.
Diggs, 32, is one of the league's most-gifted route runners. He's elite in that respect and he showed it on a 10-yard touchdown in Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Diggs made Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean think he was going one way, and then went the other way, leaving him wide open for the score.

PHILADELPHIA — By the time Stefon Diggs hauled in a 10-yard pass from Jayden Daniels and leaped into the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field, Sunday had been a largely frustrating day for the Washington Commanders’ offense.
“Finally, we hit one, and I get a little excited,” Diggs said of the score that pulled Washington within 17-15 of the Philadelphia Eagles with 9:59 remaining in the game.
Diggs, though, immediately granted the Eagles a gift. He ran through the end zone and bear-hugged the goal post.
