Severe T-Storm Watch in effect until 8:00 p.m.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The threat of severe storms continues through tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8:00 p.m. Friday. The watch includes the Florida Parishes and southern Mississippi.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the WAFB viewing area under a level 2, Slight Risk, for severe storms through the early overnight hours. Isolated to scattered storms are expected, and a few could strengthen to strong or severe status.

Damaging winds are the main concern with these storms. However, small hail and pockets of moderate to heavy rain could result in localized flash flooding in some areas.
