Columbus Crew acquire defender Eric Bailly
COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew have acquired free agent defender Eric Bailly, who most recently played for Spain’s Real Oviedo and possesses 12 seasons of experience combined between La Liga and the English Premier League. Bailly – whose contract is guaranteed through June 2027 with Club options for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 MLS campaigns — will occupy an international roster slot and will officially join the Crew roster following receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.

The Columbus Crew have signed center back Eric Bailly through June 2027 with options for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 MLS seasons, the club announced Friday.
The 32-year-old Ivory Coast international defender joins as a free agent. He last featured for LaLiga side Real Oviedo.
Bailly has spent his entire professional career in Europe, tallying 3g/2a in 260 matches. Aside from Oviedo, he's played for Manchester United, Villarreal, Marseille, Beşiktaş and Espanyol – leading to UEFA Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield titles.
Internationally, Bailly has scored two goals in 49 caps with Ivory Coast.

Columbus Crew signs veteran center back Eric Bailly
The Columbus Crew has announced that the Club has signed free-agent defender Eric Bailly, with over a decade of experience in the English Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, and the Trendyol Super Lig in Turkey. Most recently, with Real Oviedo, Bailly also suited up for Manchester United during the 2016/17 season. Bailly will join the Crew pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and international transfer certificate.
Bailly is guaranteed through June 2027 with Club options for 2027/28 and 2028/29 while occupying an International Roster Slot for the Black & Gold.
