‘Fallout 5’ in Preproduction, ‘Elder Scrolls 6’ Is Bethesda’s ‘Primary Development Focus’ Following Xbox Layoffs, Studio Chief Says
Following sweeping layoffs at parent company Xbox earlier this month, Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard revealed details about the developer’s future strategy Friday, confirming “Fallout 5″ is in the works and “The Elder Scrolls 6” is the studio’s top priority.
“Our teams are now developing The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 on Creation Engine 3, a shared technology platform we’ve been building since Starfield’s launch,” Howard wrote in a studio update note addressed to fans, which was published by Bethesda Friday. “It allows our teams to support multiple projects simultaneously with new tools, rendering, and systems that define our games.”
