Disney Cancels Adventure Cruise After Guests Embark
Disney Cruise Line cancelled the current cruise of the Disney Adventure due to a technical issue that prevented the ship from departing from its homeport in Singapore.
Guests were informed that the sailing was no longer going ahead after boarding the vessel and spending one night onboard.
As part of its series of short cruises to nowhere, the 6,000-passenger ship was scheduled to sail from the Marina Cruise Centre on May 7, 2026.
“We are truly sorry to let you know that we are unable to proceed with your Disney Adventure experience from May 7-11, 2026, as planned,” the company said in a statement shared with guests.
Disney Adventure Suddenly Cancels Sailing; Guests Asked to Disembark
Guests who boarded the Disney Adventure for a four-night Singapore cruise on May 7th received an unexpected and disappointing update: the voyage would not be proceeding as planned. Approximately 24 hours after boarding, with the ship still docked at Marina Bay Cruise Terminal, guests were informed of the cancellation and asked to begin preparing for disembarkation.
No specific reason for the cancellation was given to guests beyond a general statement about guest safety and comfort being the cruise line’s “highest priority.” Disney Cruise Line has not issued an official public explanation, and it remains unclear whether future sailings will be affected.

Disney Cruise Line dreamed up an ambitious entry into the Asian cruise market as it developed the Disney Adventure, its biggest and most theme-park-like cruise ship yet. But despite its impressive design and the anticipation surrounding its recent Singapore debut, the ship’s inaugural season has faced operational setbacks that have negatively impacted the passenger experience.
Challenges faced both before and after the new ship set sail suggest that maybe Disney Cruise Line scaled up too quickly as it expanded into Asia.
