Mandatory evacuation order issued for West Bountiful neighborhood for explosive removal
WEST BOUNTIFUL, Utah (KUTV) — A West Bountiful neighborhood was forced to evacuate as officials removed explosives found nearby.
The mandatory evacuation order was issued for the area within 2,000 feet near 1100 West and 1400 North.
Officials estimated the evacuation order to remain in place for about three hours. Residents were advised to bring medications and "other immediate necessities," but do not need to remove any other belongings, according to West Bountiful City officials.
Residents can take shelter at 1930 North 600 West in West Bountiful, next to the city park.
One man, identified as Dwayne Raymond Hughes, 80, was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree felony explosive possession as well as misdemeanor unlawful possession of fireworks and reckless endangerment

The area being evacuated is around 1450 North and 1100 West. The evacuation is in effect until 10 a.m.
