Major snowstorm dumps more than 18″ in parts of Connecticut
Heavy snow fell throughout the day Sunday, dumping more than a foot in most of Connecticut, with more to come.
The snow started around 8 a.m. and gained intensity in the afternoon, falling at a rate of 2-3" per hour. It quickly coated roads and made travel treacherous on state roads.
Gov. Ned Lamont implemented a commercial vehicle travel ban on Connecticut highways at 12 p.m. That remains in effect until further notice.
The governor also ordered state executive branch office buildings closed on Monday. Level 2 state employees were also told not to report to work on Monday.
Many cities and towns also closed their municipal buildings and told employees to stay home on Monday.

CONNECTICUT, USA — Snow has been falling in Connecticut since 9 a.m. Sunday, at points coming down at 2-3" per hour.
Precipitation is expected to continue falling until the early morning hours of Monday.
