‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 to Shoot at 19th-Century Castle Hotel in Saint-Tropez (EXCLUSIVE)

As Mike White is still in the midst of writing the anticipated Season 4 of “The White Lotus,” Variety has learned that the hit anthology will shoot at a 19th-century palace-turned-luxury hotel called the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez on the Côte d’Azur.
The Château de La Messardière, which is set within 32 acres of parasol pines, cypress trees and jasmine, is part of Airelles Collection, a group of five-star hotels owned by Stephane Courbit, who is also the founder and chairman of Banijay Group (“Survivor,” “Peaky Blinders”). HBO did not have a comment.

While The White Lotus’ season three hits its final round of awards recognition at the Golden Globes this evening, Jan. 11, with stars Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs up for individual nominations for their performances, Mike White is already setting the itinerary for season four.
In November, HBO confirmed that the upcoming season will be set somewhere in France, following stays at the titular hotel’s resorts in Hawaii in season one, Italy in season two and Thailand in season three. At the time HBO CEO Casey Bloys shared that Mike had also begun generating other ideas for the season, noting in a statement that the process was “just starting.”

The HBO series, created by Mike White, will use the Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez, France, to double as part of a luxury hotel chain whose guests keep getting murdered. The hotel, open seasonally from late April to mid-October, sits a little inland from the coastal French Riviera town of Saint-Tropez but offers views of of the sea and accommodations that will set you back about $1,300 per night in the smallest room on opening weekend.
