"Due to the current weather conditions with heavy snowfall and snowdrifts, the safety of the venue and the safe execution of the event in compliance with all operating regulations cannot be guaranteed," St. Pauli said in a statement posted on Instagram.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the snowfall initially forecast for Friday will not materialise in large parts of Brandenburg and Berlin.
A DWD spokesperson said on Friday that significantly less snow than predicted would fall in the northern half of Brandenburg and in Berlin. The severe weather warning for heavy snowfall has been lifted for Berlin and Brandenburg. "We do not see any danger to life and limb," the spokesperson emphasised. Light snow is still expected in the afternoon, but not with the intensity initially predicted. Berlin and the northern half of Brandenburg will be spared the worst fears.

Storm Elli is sweeping across Germany with heavy snow, freezing rain and gale-force winds, prompting the German Weather Service to warn residents not to leave their homes as conditions deteriorate from Thursday afternoon.
Schools have already announced closures, fatal accidents have been reported, and forecasters expect up to 25 centimeters of fresh snow in parts of the north and northeast, with dangerous snowdrifts forming within minutes under strong winds.
