Ohio State adds linebacker out of transfer portal from Big Ten program
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Wisconsin linebacker Christian Alliegro has committed to Ohio State, per a report from ESPN on Thursday morning.
The 6-foot-4, 245 pound linebacker had 49 tackles and 4 sacks last year for the Badgers. He was originally a member of the class of 2023.
The Connecticut native brings experience to a relatively young position group on Ohio State’s roster.
Sonny Styles exhausted his eligibility this season, and Arvell Reese is expected to be a top-10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. As a result, Payton Pierce — Ohio State’s third linebacker in 2025 — is the only returning player at the position with more than 100 career snaps played.

It has been slow going for the Ohio State football program in terms of gaining Transfer Portal commits. While they have had a couple of dozen players enter the portal, they have only brought in a handful of portal players to replace them. That also doesn't include players they will lose to the NFL Draft.
Still, the Buckeyes seem to be steadfast that their approach will work. They are worried about getting the right guys, not the flashiest guys. If they are going to compete for a national championship in 2026, they have to make sure the right guys produce in a big way.
