Falcons update game status for 5 players vs. Saints, elevate punter

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons updated the game status of multiple players Saturday in advance of their regular-season finale against the New Orleans Saints.

First, punter Trenton Gill was chosen as the Falcons' Week 18 standard practice squad elevation. Gill was signed to the practice squad Thursday.

Since he was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2022 with a seventh-round pick, Gill has punted in 42 games. He was the Bears' full-time punter during his first two seasons in the league, averaging 46.1 yards per boot and pinning 28.6% of them within the 20-yard line. He then spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, appearing in eight games with a 43.3-yard punt average and 33.3% success rate inside the 20. Gill has yet to punt in the 2025 season.

NFL 2025 Week 18 early inactives: Drake London, Kyle Pitts will play for Falcons

The Falcons had a handful of key players listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Saints, but the Panthers will be glad to hear that all of them are in the lineup.

Wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Darnell Mooney, and cornerback A.J. Terrell will all play in Atlanta’s final game of the season. London, Pitts, and Mooney have knee injuries while Terrell was added to the report on Saturday with an illness.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins, defensive lineman David Onyemata, and linebacker Ronnie Harrison were also added to the report due to illness on Sunday. Harrison is the only one who will miss the game.
