Jacksonville police officer injured in shooting, suspect still at large
JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) – A Jacksonville police officer is recovering in a Tyler hospital after being injured in a shooting Sunday evening.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, around 4:41 p.m. Sunday evening, a JPD officer was shot during an encounter with a suspect.
According to JPD, the suspect has been identified as Bobby Michael Dennis, 64, a black male who was last seen wearing all black.
The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a Blue Alert for Dennis around 8:19 p.m. According to the Blue Alert, Dennis is 5′9″, 152 lbs, and has a gray 2012 GMC Sierra with license plates TRW3919. Below is a stock image of that type of pickup.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas — A Blue Alert has been issued across Texas as the Jacksonville Police Department searches for 64-year-old Bobby Dennis in connection with alleged violence against a law enforcement officer.
The suspect was last seen at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday in Jacksonville, TX, which is south of Tyler, wearing a black jacket and all-black clothing.
Authorities said he may be traveling in a gray 2012 GMC Sierra with Texas license plate TRW3919.
Law enforcement officials believe this suspect and vehicle are associated with the serious injury of a law enforcement officer, posing a serious risk or threat to the public and other law enforcement personnel.
