Scott Wolf Sets ‘Doc’ Return; EPs Tease Surprising Way Richard Miller Will Be Back At Westside In Season 2
Within the span of Doc‘s first season, Scott Wolf‘s Dr. Richard Miller threaded the needle between a cold-blooded villain who would stop at nothing to protect his job — including destroying Amy (Molly Parker) — and a sympathetic father who cares deeply for his sick son.
After losing his job as Chief of Internal Medicine at the Westside Hospital in the Season 1 finale, Miller will be back, with Wolf set to reprise his role in a multi-episode guest arc on the Fox medical drama later this season.
Additionally, Wolf will direct an upcoming Doc episode airing in early 2026.
“We always knew when Richard got fired that would never be the last of him,” Doc co-showrunners/executive producers Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg said, teasing what is to come. “But no one expected him to come back to Westside like this — least of all Amy.”

The Netflix release schedule is full of many popular streaming originals, but sometimes shows that have already aired elsewhere become massive hits. Suits’ success on streaming contributed to a spinoff getting the green light, and Manifest’s arrival on the platform resulted in a revival for another season. Now, a current network TV show has arrived on the streamer, and is beating most of the competition after less than a week. People with a subscription to Netflix are apparently really loving Doc, and fortunately, they shouldn’t have much trouble finding more episodes of the medical drama in the 2025 TV schedule.
