(25News Now) – Our 25 Sports Football Friday Game of the Week was Normal West at Peoria High, and it was the Wildcats led by backup QB Chase Sennett who won 43-38 to move to 3-2 overall; the Lions drop to 3-2 overall.

Also in the Big 12, Bloomington dominated Urbana 48-0, Normal Community bounced back with a big win over Peoria Manual, and Peoria Notre Dame outlasted Centennial 22-14.

In the Mid-Illini, Dunlap shut out East Peoria, Washington wins big at Limestone, Metamora earns a big road win at Canton, and Pekin bounced back with a hard-fought home win over Morton.

Illinois high school football recap: Peoria-area highlights from IHSA Week 5

Week 5 of the Illinois high school football season is done. We had some dramatic finishes, playoff berths clinched, and the cream rising to the top of the Mid-Illini Conference race.

Here is the Journal Star preps experience for Week 5, your one-stop shop as we look around the Peoria-area football landscape in the fifth week of the 2025 high school season:

Bushnell-Prairie City outlasted Peoria Heights, 64-62, scoring in the final seconds to win its homecoming game in 8-person football.

Jonavan Harrell scampered 50 yards with 16.6 seconds left — and added the two-point conversion — to help BP-C rally. Harrell also snagged the game-clinching interception as Heights attempted to drive for the go-ahead score.
