Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca refuses to rule out Nicolas Jackson exit

Enzo Maresca has refused to rule out the possibility of Nicolas Jackson leaving Chelsea this month, as uncertainty continues to swirl around the striker’s future at Stamford Bridge.

As detailed in The Athletic’s Transfer DealSheet this week, Chelsea are not desperate to sell the 24-year-old this summer, but recognise that he may want to go elsewhere to be a lead striker and are open to sanctioning his departure if a suitable offer arrives.

Chelsea’s summer acquisitions Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both appear to be ahead of Jackson in the No 9 pecking order, while Newcastle are still in the market for a new striker with Manchester United emerging as RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko’s preferred destination.

Newcastle consider Nicolas Jackson move after Benjamin Sesko blow

Chelsea open to selling Senegal international as Manchester United move ahead of Newcastle in race for Slovenian forward

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has emerged as a serious option for Newcastle as they face defeat in the race for Benjamin Sesko.

Eddie Howe has been desperate to add to his forward line this summer and backed a bid for RB Leipzig forward Sesko, although the 22-year-old is favouring a move to Manchester United according to sources.

While missing out on Sesko is yet to be confirmed, it is understood that Howe has other strikers on his radar and Jackson features highly on his list of forward targets.
