(FOX40.COM) — Two people were transported to the hospital after a head-on collision in the Manteca area Saturday afternoon, police said.

Two vehicles collided head-on in the 2200 block of W. Yosemite Avenue between Airport Way and Swanson Road, Sgt. Steve Beermann with the Manteca Police Department told FOX40.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. A Chevy SUV traveling westbound turned in front of a Hyundai sedan traveling eastbound for reasons not yet known, Sgt. Beermann said.
The driver of the Chevy, a 44-year-old Lathrop resident, was found unconscious in the backseat. The passenger, a 60-year-old Manteca resident, was ejected from the vehicle. Both were transported to a hospital.
