Padres-Phils postponed Tuesday; day-night doubleheader set for Wed.
PHILADELPHIA — Hopefully Wednesday’s doubleheader between the Phillies and Padres ends earlier than the one they played exactly 32 years ago at Veterans Stadium.
Tuesday night’s game between Philadelphia and San Diego at Citizens Bank Park was postponed because of rain.
The teams will play Game 1 of a split doubleheader at 1:05 p.m. ET. Game 2 will begin at 6:15 p.m. ET.
Mick Abel will start Game 1 for Philadelphia, followed by Cristopher Sánchez in the nightcap. The Padres will counter with Nick Pivetta and Dylan Cease, respectively.
