NEW JERSEY (WABC) — Someone in New Jersey woke up $847 million richer after a single ticket won the Powerball jackpot.
The ticket was sold at a Wegmans Food Market in Montvale. The store was awarded a $30,000 bonus check on Thursday afternoon and officials there said they would donate the entire check to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
"We are in the middle of our Check Out Hunger campaign, and we are going to donate the check directly to that campaign," said store manager Nick Tassi.
The winning ticket matched all six numbers, making it the ninth-largest jackpot in Powerball history.
