The Celtics need more from Derrick White and Payton Pritchard
Both White and Pritchard have struggled to get it going offensively to start the season.De

In that timespan, both Derrick White and Payton Pritchard have remained in green. Pritchard, a 2020 draft pick, and White, acquired at the 2022 trade deadline, have been the guards Boston has chosen to lead them going forward.
However, to start this season, neither of them are playing very well.
Neither White nor Pritchard have gotten off to the starts Boston was looking for. White has averaged 11.1 points and 4.9 assists, shooting 44% from the field and 32% from three while Pritchard has averaged 13.4 points and 3.4 assists, shooting 40% from the field and 31% from three.

The Boston Celtics' loss to the Houston Rockets last night wasn't fun to watch, but honestly, it wasn't that disheartening. It's actually pretty impressive that they were in the game for most of it until Houston pulled away in the fourth.
Among the contributing factors to their loss was the cold shooting of Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser (and Derrick White, to be fair). However, Pritchard and Hauser both had goose eggs from distance, shooting zero-for-10 combined. In a game Boston lost by 16 – again, it was single digits for most of the game – if six of those threes go in, the Celtics win.

Sam Hauser News: Goes cold from deep
Hauser totaled two points (1-6 FG, 0-5 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 19 minutes during Monday's 109-93 loss to the Rockets.
Hauser failed to connect on any of his five three-point attempts as Boston struggled from long range, shooting just 28.6 percent as a team. The sharpshooter has a narrow fantasy profile built primarily around perimeter scoring, making outings like Monday's particularly damaging to his value.
