Lionesses to face France and Portugal in Nations League
All the Uefa Nations League ties will be played over two legs
England have been drawn to face France, Austria and Portugal in next year's Women's Nations League.
In Nyon, Switzerland, Sarina Wiegman's side were drawn alongside familiar opponents, having faced Portugal in the previous Nations League campaign, while France and Austria have both been recent rivals in major tournament qualifying campaigns.
The Lionesses will begin their campaign in Group A2 across three international windows in February-March, April and June 2027, with each team playing home and away fixtures.
"[France are] a world-class team," said Wiegman. "They have so much quality, they have power, they have technique and they have some players, of course, also playing in the WSL [Women's Super League] and at other top clubs.
Ireland drawn in Nations League group with world champions Spain
Next monthâs World Cup qualifying playoff against Poland might be the sole focus for Carla Ward and her Republic of Ireland squad, but they now know their opponents in the 2027 Nations League after Tuesdayâs draw in Switzerland. They will play in a League A group with reigning world and European champions Spain, as well as Norway and Switzerland.
The prize for the winners of the group is not just a place in the semi-finals of the competition but also a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games. However, the inclusion of Spain, who have won the last two Nations Leagues, makes that particular dream a distant enough one.

Nations League could offer Ireland ticket to the LA Games
The draw for the 2027 UEFA Women's Nations League takes place at midday on Tuesday, and it could be the start of the Republic of Ireland's journey to the LA Olympic Games.
Carla Ward's side will take on Poland in a two-legged World Cup play-off final in December having breezed past Kazakhstan last month. The Girls in Green travel to Gdansk on Tuesday, 1 December, before hosting the return game at Aviva Stadium four days later.
Ireland were excellent in League A of World Cup qualifying, beating the Poles twice and the Netherlands in Cork to finish third in the the group. That means the Girls in Green will be in League A of the next Nations League, which begins in February. League A features Europe's top 16 countries divided into four seeded pots of four teams.
