Louisville voters cast their ballot as early voting kicks off in Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — Early voting in Kentucky kicked off Thursday morning, with more than 20 locations to cast a ballot in Jefferson County.
Voters have until Oct. 31 to vote early without needing a reason before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The Kentucky Exposition Center is offering walk-in and drive-thru voting, which is new this year. Voters who took advantage of the drive-thru polling location said everything went smoothly Thursday, though they initially had some doubts about it.
Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams was among those voting early using the walk-in option and said about a quarter of voters are taking advantage of early voting.

Louisville voters can use the tool below to enter their address and see the nearest early voting locations and the fastest route to get there. Early voting locations aren’t precinct-specific, meaning that unlike Election Day, any Jefferson County resident can choose where they want to vote.
Also, for the first time, Louisville election officials have added a drive-thru voting site at the Kentucky Expo Center.
“So sometimes it’s hard to get the kids out and show an ID and go in and vote, or if you’re someone who has mobility issues, you might not be able to walk into a place,” said Ashley Tinius with the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office.
