RJ Mitte’s “Breaking Bad” family is mourning the young actor after his death by suicide Monday.
Bryan Cranston, who played his TV dad Walter White, shared a touching tribute to him on Instagram.
“I’m in deep despair as I write this tonight. RJ Mitte, my sweet son on ‘Breaking Bad’ has died. I met him when he was only 14 years old when he was cast as Walter White Jr., a part he played with such joy and enthusiasm,” Cranston wrote. “Born with Cerebral Palsy, he never – ever – allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything. He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination.”

What to Know About ‘Breaking Bad’ Actor RJ Mitte’s Cause of Death and Cerebral Palsy Diagnosis
RJ Mitte was one of the emotional centers of “Breaking Bad,” playing a teenager with cerebral palsy, a condition he lived with in real life since he was a toddler.
The actor and disability rights advocate died by suicide at 34, his representatives said. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, in Brownsville, Texas, where Mitte lived, according to his obituary.
Mitte was going through an emotional time, but friends and family had no indication he might end his own life, his mother, Dyna Mitte, told NBC News in an exclusive interview.
“For the last three months, I’d been offering for him to go to therapy, trying to get him to go there, but he was like, ‘No, I’ve got it. It’s OK. I’m handling it,’” his mother said.
