As the days go by following Hayden Panettiere's tragic passing, things keep getting messier. On Monday, it was revealed that her ex, Wladimir Klitschko, is taking legal action to protect their 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, and the inheritance she is expected to receive from her late mother.
Klitschko, Panettiere’s former fiancé and Kaya’s father, filed paperwork in Los Angeles on Sept. 24 asking to be appointed the temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The request does not concern custody of Kaya; Panettiere had already given him full custody before she passed. He's basically asking for authority to act on his daughter’s behalf while Panettiere’s estate goes through probate.

Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, asked the court to be named the guardian of their 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate, according to new court documents obtained by Page Six.
Klitschko filed paperwork in Los Angeles on Thursday to protect his daughter’s inheritance, noting Kaya — who lives in Ukraine with her dad — “is entitled to the entirety” of the late “Heroes” star’s assets.
The docs state it’s “urgent and essential” that Klitschko, 50, be appointed temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate so he “may receive, manage and hold” Kaya’s assets on her behalf.
Klitschko continued in court papers that he is “informed and believes” federal agents entered Panettiere’s Los Angeles residence as part of an ongoing investigation and “removed property belonging to Hayden’s Estate.”
