The No. 1 team in the FCS will be without a pair of its top offensive weapons tonight, Skyline Sports confirmed on Saturday afternoon through multiple sources.
Justin Lamson, a preseason All-Big Sky Conference selection at quarterback and the Most Outstanding Player in last year’s FCS title game, will miss tonight’s start against Northern Arizona with a leg injury suffered last week against Central Connecticut State.
Taco Dowler, a second-team All-Big Sky wide receiver last season who was also a star during Montana State’s run to the FCS championship, will also miss tonight’s nationally televised contest against the No. 18 Lumberjacks with an undisclosed injury.

Bobcats coach Brent Vigen says he's excited about being in full-time conference play.
"We have a ranked team coming in here and this is the type of game that we need after that last game, with all our senses heightened and the opportunity in front of us to take off," said Vigen, whose team had to fight to get past Central Connecticut State 35-30 last week.

MSU football begins Big Sky play against NAU
BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Montana State University Bobcats will start their regular Big Sky Conference portion of the schedule this Saturday against Northern Arizona.
NAU is 3-1 so far this season with their only loss being a 35-7 defeat to Arizona (FBS).
The Lumberjacks defeated Eastern Washington 34-27 in week 0 after trailing by 21 in the first half, then beat Incarnate Word 28-28, and most recently Utah Tech 35-23.
They are led by quarterback Ty Pennington, who is one of the best signal callers in all of the FCS. He has thrown for 808 yards this season to go along with five touchdown passes and three interceptions.
