A 77-year-old Walmart shopper died after he was allegedly attacked inside a Virginia store by the parents of a teenage employee he had confronted over a shopping cart incident involving his wife, according to US media reports.
Bert Atienza died from blunt head trauma on 8 June, one day after the attack at the Walmart in Norfolk, Virginia, WTKR reported on Monday. The shocking incident was captured on surveillance video.
Police responded to the store at about 3.20pm on 7 June after receiving a report of an assault.

NORFOLK, Va. — Bert Atienza, 77, died after he was assaulted inside a Walmart in Norfolk. His wife, Josephine Atienza, is speaking exclusively to News 3 about the attack that killed her husband of 42 years.
Officers responded to a reported assault at the Walmart at 1170 North Military Highway on June 7 around 3:20 p.m.
Bert was found unresponsive at the scene and died from his injuries at the hospital the next day.
Erika Mitchell, 42, and Travis White, 44, have been charged with second-degree murder, according to court records.
A 17-year-old Walmart employee also faces charges for assault and battery, aggravated malicious wounding, and conspiracy to commit a felony, according to police.

An elderly Walmart customer was beaten to death by the parents of a teen employee who he had argued with after accusing her of nearly ramming his wife with a shopping cart, according to his grieving widow.
Bert Atienza died of blunt head trauma at a hospital on June 8, a day after two people attacked him inside a Walmart in Norfolk, Va., WTKR reported on Monday.
“My husband was still able to speak, he said, ‘Help me, get up,’ but I told him, ‘no you’re bleeding. Your mouth is bleeding. Ambulance is coming,” Atienza’s wife Josephine said.
The 77-year-old was grocery shopping with his wife of 42 years after a morning at church when a 17-year-old employee tore down the aisle the couple was in, almost clipping Josephine with a cart.
