Bitcoin ETF Outflows Hit $450mn as CLARITY Act Stalls in Senate
U.S. spot Bitcoin funds saw their sharpest reversal in weeks on Sep. 15 as Washington delivered another dose of regulatory uncertainty.
Farside Investors data showed the 12 US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $450.4 million in combined net outflows yesterday, wiping out the previous session's $159.9 million inflow.
Fidelity's FBTC led withdrawals with $214.8 million, followed by BlackRock's IBIT at $161.7 million and Grayscale's GBTC at $44.1 million.
The last time Bitcoin ETFs posted such massive outflows was on June 25 ($696.29 million). The timing places the ETF withdrawals alongside a clear regulatory shock, although it does not establish that the vote alone caused investors to redeem shares.
There was another large variable in play. Markets were also preparing for a Federal Reserve decision, with a rate increase widely expected and Treasury yields already putting pressure on risk assets.
XRP Spot Funds Reverse Course With A Sudden Single-Day $5.15M Exit
U.S. spot XRP (XRP) funds shed $5.15 million on Sept. 17, erasing the prior session's gain, while Bitcoin (BTC) funds drew about $159 million.
Spot XRP exchange-traded funds recorded $5.15 million in net outflows on Sept. 17, reversing a single day of buying. The 21Shares XRP ETF accounted for about $3.78 million of the total, followed by Canary Capital's XRP fund at roughly $1.37 million. Combined assets across the group stood near $1.39 billion once the redemptions settled.
The withdrawal wiped out a $3.5 million inflow booked the session before, when Franklin Templeton's XRPZ took in almost all of the new money. Bitcoin funds ran the other way on Thursday, collecting roughly $159 million as the token climbed more than 1% to about $77,216.
