Deceased infant found in trash bag at Iowa child care facility
PERRY, Iowa (KCCI) – The Perry Police Department is investigating after they found a dead newborn Tuesday evening, KCCI reports.
Dallas County EMS were called shortly before 5 p.m. to Acorns & Oaks Child Care for a report of a female who was experiencing vaginal bleeding.
Perry Police officers responded shortly after 6:30 p.m. and found a reportedly premature infant inside a trash bag.
The infant was taken to the State Medical Examiner for autopsy.
The infant was not under the care of Acorns & Oaks and was not a client of the daycare center, according to police.
Perry Police Chief James Archer says the investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the community.
