Viral post alleges Texas Roadhouse mistreated Black customers; company responds

Abilene, Texas — A viral social media post has put Texas Roadhouse at the center of a growing online conversation, after a screenshot circulated alleging that some Black customers’ food was being intentionally tampered with.

The Facebook post, which was shared widely across social media, claimed members of a Facebook group called “White and Proud” were discussing intentionally tampering with food served to Black customers. Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s Roadhouse were both named in the post.

But the post did not identify a location, city or specific restaurant. So far, there is no verified evidence connecting the claims to a Texas Roadhouse employee.

Texas Roadhouse responds to food-tampering, racism allegations on TikTok

Over the weekend, Texas Roadhouse responded to unverified social media allegations claiming employees at some of its restaurants discriminated against Black customers. The chain said it is investigating the claims and remains committed to treating guests with respect.

Texas Roadhouse made two TikTok posts on Aug. 23. The first said the restaurant is dedicated to welcoming every guest.

"We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or mistreatment of any kind, and we expect our Roadies to treat every guest with dignity and care," Texas Roadhouse said in its post.

The second post seemed to address a video circulating on social media alleging discrimination. The video Texas Roadhouse referenced could not be independently verified.
