Pirates' Lake Bachar: Opening Sunday's game
Bachar will serve as the Pirates' opening pitcher for Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers, Jason Mackey of MLB.com reports.
Bachar tossed one inning and 32 pitches in his most recent appearance in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to Los Angeles, so he'll probably be capped at around two or three frames while he opens the series finale. Carmen Mlodzinski is expected to work in bulk relief behind Bachar.

Pirates Make Starting Pitcher Decision vs. Dodgers
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking to avoid a sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers and will hope their pitching can lead the way to a victory.
The Pirates will have right-handed pitcher Lake Bachar start vs. the Dodgers in the series finale at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 23, per manager Don Kelly
It marks the second start for Bachar with the Pirates, last doing so vs. the Boston Red Sox in the 8-3 win at PNC Park on Aug. 16.
Kelly also noted that right-handed pitcher Carmen Mlodzinski will be available to follow, which would give him a bulk role.
The Pirates had Bachar start vs. the Red Sox after they pushed back Paul Skenes from that game to three days later against the Detroit Tigers at PNC Park on Aug. 19.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers: Lake Bachar vs. Blake Snell
The Pirates are on the road looking to grab a win today.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are facing off against the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the finale of a three-game weekend set at Dodger Stadium. The Pirates have held the lead in each of the first two games, but they have been unable to keep it, dropping both of the earlier games in the series by one run.
Now, the Pirates hope to avoid a sweep by sending Lake Bachar to the mound to start what should be a bullpen game for Pittsburgh.
Bachar has made five appearances for the Pirates since being acquired earlier this month in a trade with the Miami Marlins. He appeared in Friday’s contest against the Dodgers, going through one inning but walking three batters in the process. It’s a second start for the Pirates after pitching the first three innings in the team’s 8-3 win against the Boston Red Sox on August 16.
