In a new teaser trailer for Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) challenges his former Padawan Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) amid the perils of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and his return to rally the Imperial remnant. Luckily, Ahsoka is far from alone.
During the Disney Studio Showcase Panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, series creator and Lucasfilm President and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni and the stars revealed the latest trailer and news that Ahsoka Season 2 will arrive on Disney+ this January 20, 2027. Premiering just one month ahead of the Star Wars theatrical re-release in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the film that started it all, Ahsoka Season 2 is a fitting tribute to Filoniâs love of the original Star Wars films and his work over the past 20 years in Star Wars animation and live action. âWhat started as one film has grown over five decades into a global phenomenon," Filoni noted.

The annual D23 fan event in Anaheim, California, is over, but not before it delivered several exciting new Star Wars announcements, including an update on Star Wars: Starfighter. It’s been three years since we last saw Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and her Mandalorian apprentice Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) travel to the planet Peridea in search of Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and the Empire’s most cunning officer, Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). While both Ezra and Thrawn ended up escaping back to the galaxy we all know and love, Ahsoka and Sabine ended up stranded.

Ahsoka is coming back! At D23, we got a brand-new look at the return of Dave Filoni’s live-action spinoff starring Rosario Dawson as the titular former Jedi, and it gave us everything we could want: flashbacks, lightsabers, big questions, dilemmas, and lots and lots of Thrawn.
But the sheer amount of excitement surrounding this trailer may actually be a bad thing. With so much to cover and only eight episodes to do it in, Ahsoka Season 2 may have bitten off more than it can chew.
