Tornado confirmed in Brown County during major storms

BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in the Brown County area during the major storm that passed through on August 11.

According to a statement from the National Weather Service, an EF-1 tornado developed near State Route 32 in Brown County and moved into "far western" Adams County on the afternoon of August 11.

"Damage was first observed along U.S. Highway 62 south of Macon, where numerous trees were uprooted and the roof of an outbuilding was lifted off and destroyed," the statement read.

The tornado continued through Tibbe Road, collapsing an outbuilding, and over John Woods Road and Greathouse Road. Once it entered Adams County, is passed through Tamme Road, Ecksmanville Road, and Kirkpatrick Road before finally dissipating just before Cherry Fork.
