Mariska Hargitay’s Best ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episodes To Re-Air On NBC
NBC will host a special Law & Order: Special Victims Unit marathon next month featuring the best of Mariska Hargitay‘s episodes. The block will air Thursday, September 10, as a tribute to Hargitay ahead of her hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards the following Monday.
The Season 28 premiere of Law & Order: SVU is set for Thursday, October 8 at 9 p.m. Later this year, the series will surpass 600 episodes.
Hargitay won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2006 for her portrayal of Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU and has been nominated a total of eight times for her work on the series. This year, Hargitay is also up for two additional Emmys for her contributions as producer and director on the documentary My Mom Jayne, about her mother Jayne Mansfield.

Well, it’s actually a mini Law & Order: SVU marathon scheduled to hit the network on Sept. 10, but the selected episodes were handpicked and curated as a tribute to Hargitay ahead of her high-profile gig as the host of the 78th Emmy Awards.
Billed as a sort of “best of Mariska Hargitay” night, the three episodes from the SVU vault all garnered acting nominations for her work as Captain Olivia Benson, with one of them landing her the trophy as outstanding lead actress in a drama series. (Hargitay, who is an executive producer and sometimes director on the show, has been nominated eight times for her work on the long-running series.)

‘Law and Order: SVU’ Best of Mariska Hargitay Marathon Set for September on NBC
NBC is airing a “Law and Order: SVU” marathon in celebration of series mainstay Mariska Hargitay.
NBC will air three episodes of “SVU” back-to-back on Sept. 10 featuring Hargitay’s Emmy-winning performance in the 2005 episode “911” as well as two other episodes for which she received Emmy nominations. The full lineup can be seen below.
The marathon comes four days ahead of the 2026 Emmy Awards, which will air on NBC with Hargitay set to host. She is the first woman to host the annual TV awards show in 15 years.
Hargitay has been a central cast member on “SVU” since the show launched in 1999. She has received eight total Emmy nominations for her role as Capt. Olivia Benson, as well as two Golden Globe noms with one win. She also now serves as an executive producer and director on the series.
