Bears training camp report: Thursday, Aug. 6
The Bears conducted their eighth training camp practice and third in pads Thursday at Halas Hall. It was also their longest workout, lasting more than two hours. Here's what transpired:
The No. 1 offense concluded practice with an impressive two-minute drill, capped by Caleb Williams' 3-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden III across the back of the end zone with :14.2 remaining.
The offense started the drive at its own 35, trailing by three points with 1:41 to play. Williams, who helped the Bears rally to win seven games they trailed in the final 2:00 last season, completed 6 of 6 passes for 53 yards to five different receivers.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Chicago Bears’ starting offense had two interceptions, a fumbled snap, back-to-back false starts in a two-minute situation Tuesday, and ended with receiver Luther Burden III slowly getting up after going to the ground on an incomplete pass.
The good news? It’s Aug. 4; it’s been one of the better camps for a Bears offense, and Burden said he was OK when he spoke to the media after practice.
“Every day is not gonna be a great day,” Burden said. “You can strive for that, but it’s camp. It’s gonna be ups and downs. So that’s the good part about it. We get to come back and watch it.”

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – When Bears coach Ben Johnson doesn’t like how a practice went, he’ll always tell you about it – even if it’s days later.
The offense’s performance in Tuesday’s practice – which included the first fully live period of training camp – bothered him.
“We tell them the truth in the meetings,” Johnson said Thursday. “They take what is said in the building very seriously. We have a bunch of professionals; they want to be great, and so when it’s good, we let them know that it’s good. When it’s not good enough, we let them know.
