Investigation underway after Champaign house explodes and catches fire

CHAMPAIGN – Police and firefighters are trying to find out why a Champaign house exploded and caught fire. No one was injured in the incident.

Firefighters responded to the residence in the 2700 block of Judith Drive around noon on Sunday.

Neighbors and the family of the man who owned the house believe no one was in the building at the time of the explosion. The resident is believed to be currently living in a nursing home.
