Daycare employee charged after child dragged across floor, police say
GREENE COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) – A daycare employee is held on a $75,000 cash or surety bond after police say she was seen on video dragging a child across the floor.
District Judge Curtis Hitt found probable cause to charge Jayden Grider with second-degree battery.
On July 28, Arkansas Crimes Against Children and Paragould police received a report of a 3-year-old child being injured at Bloom Pediatric Academy.
According to the affidavit, the child had been placed in time-out when Grider grabbed the child by the ankles after the child began striking themselves.
Grider dragged the child a short distance, causing what the affidavit described as “pretty extensive abrasions along the child’s back ribcage area.” Photos provided to investigators showed four abrasions on the child’s back.
Affidavit: Woman charged with battery after dragging child down hallway
PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – Paragould police arrested a woman accused of dragging a child down a hallway at Arkids Pediatric Day Centers.
The affidavit said officers responded July 27 to Arkids Pediatric Day Centers at 528 U.S. Highway 49 North in reference to child abuse.
Parents and staff told officers that Nola D. Burney, 49, of Rector, dragged a child down the hall by the child’s ankle.
Police gathered documents and video from AR Kids that, the affidavit says, showed Burney dragging the child on the afternoon of July 24.

Jayden Grider, of Paragould, has been charged with second-degree battery, a Class D felony, according to an affidavit filed in Greene County District Court.
The investigation began July 28 after the Paragould Police Department and Arkansas Crimes Against Children received a hotline report regarding a child injured at a local day care facility.
