Cary mom missing in Grenada left Airbnb for a swim, her friend says
Loved ones are desperately trying to find Elizabeth Waddell, 44, a Cary mother who was reported missing Wednesday while vacationing with a friend in Grenada.
WRAL News on Sunday spoke to Amanda Romano-Harmon, who has known Elizabeth Waddell and her husband, Cailen, for 25 years. The husbands were college roommates, and the two couples and their children have been close for years.
According to the Royal Grenada Police Force, Elizabeth Waddell was last seen around 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, in the Grand Anse Beach area of St. George’s. She has short, blonde hair and is 5 feet tall. Anyone with any tips is asked to contact police.

Grenadian authorities are asking for help locating Waddell, who her family said went missing Wednesday after going down to the water near Grand Anse Beach for a swim.
Friends say they are staying strong and hoping for the best as search efforts continue.
"She's an amazing person, and we want to bring her home," said Amanda Romano-Harmon, a family friend of Waddell's. "It seems that she went down to the pier and left her towel on the pier and went for a swim."

An American woman disappeared on vacation in Grenada, and her loved ones are pleading for help finding her.
Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, 44, of Cary, North Carolina, was last seen at Grand Anse Beach on Wednesday, the Royal Grenada Police Force said in a missing person alert issued Thursday.
She had been staying at Grand Anse, a popular tourist destination known for its white sand and turquoise water, in St. George’s, the nation’s capital.
Police asked fishermen, boat operators and residents along the southern coastline to report any sightings of Waddell. She is described as being of medium build with short blond hair.
