Jeff Hays, the narrator and producer behind all eight of the currently released “Dungeon Crawler Carl” books, has been cast as the voice of Princess Donut on the Peacock TV adaptation of Matt Dinniman‘s best-selling LitRPG novels.
For those who have yet to enter the crawl, Donut is a tiara-wearing talking cat who belonged to the titular Carl’s ex-girlfriend, Beatrice. When an alien attack pushes Carl and the remaining survivors of humanity underground into a televised competition for their freedom, Carl teams up with Donut as his partner in the deadly game show.

Jeff Hays, the narrator and producer of the DCC audiobooks, will voice the character of Princess Donut in the live-action series. Princess Donut is a key character in the books, a cat belonging to Carl’s ex-girlfriend who acquires the ability to speak when they become part of a survival game show run by the aliens who have destroyed most of humanity.

Attention crawlers! The voice of popular cat character Princess Donut in Peacock’s live-action adaptation of Matt Dinniman’s Dungeon Crawler Carl has been found.
Jeff Hays, a voice narrator and producer behind the LitRPG audiobook series version of Dinniman’s dystopian comedy novel has joined the Peacock and Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door television adaptation to bring the regal cat, who can shoot lasers from her eyes and speak in the subterranean levels of the earth, to life.
The news broke live before a packed San Diego Comic-Con crowd during Penguin Random House’s “Spotlight on Matt Dinniman” panel, with Hays surprising fans during a conversation between series writer and executive producer Chris Yost and author and co-executive producer Matt Dinniman.
