Bedard signs 5-year, $75 million contract with Blackhawks
Connor Bedard signed a five-year, $75 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. It has an average annual value of $15 million.
The center, who turned 21 on Friday, had 75 points (30 goals, 45 assists) in 69 games for the Blackhawks last season.
The No. 1 pick by Chicago in the 2023 NHL Draft, Bedard has led the Blackhawks in points each of his first three seasons and has 203 points (75 goals, 128 assists) in 219 regular-season games. He won the 2024 Calder Trophy voted as the NHL rookie of the year after he had 61 points (22 goals, 39 assists) in 68 games.
A restricted free agent, Bedard had been eligible to sign another contract with Chicago since July 1, 2025.

CHICAGO — Connor Bedard has stated he wants to win Stanley Cup championships and wants to do it with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Bedard committed to that pledge by agreeing to a five-year contract extension, carrying an average annual value of $15 million, the team announced Saturday afternoon.
The deal, which comes a day after Bedard turned 21, is the third largest in the league in terms of average annual value behind only Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson ($18 million) and Minnesota Wild winger Kirill Kaprizov ($17 million). It will keep Bedard in Chicago through the 2030-31 season, but buys out only one year of unrestricted free agency.
