New Jersey faces a triple threat of dangerous weather on Wednesday with highs around 100 degrees, chances for afternoon thunderstorms and Canadian wildfire smoke.
"Dangerous heat today with highs in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees and heat indices 100-109 degrees for most," the National Weather Service said. "There is also a threat of isolated severe thunderstorms (damaging winds main threat) after 4 p.m."
Extreme heat warnings are in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Somerset counties.
