Wistow maze reveals brilliant new design, celebrating Sir David Attenborough
Every year thousands of visitors enjoy exploring the maize maze, just south of Leicester
Later this month the Wistow Maze will be opening to the public. And this year the design celebrates the career of legendary broadcaster Sir David Attenborough.
Sir David, who grew up in Leicester, turned 100 this year and to mark the occasion the maze – made of tall maize plants – has been created so that, when seen from above, it looks like a mountain gorilla.
Sir David's most famous television moments include an encounter with the giant apes, playing with some young gorillas in Rwanda in 1978.
