The 20-year-old is the youngest member of the Switzerland squad and became the youngest goal scorer since 1950 for the country at the World Cup.
He came on as a substitute for Dan Ndoye in the 72nd minute and found the net less than two minutes later. This was his third senior team goal for the Suiss side, having debuted in May 2025. He added another goal to his haul in the 90th minute to make the score 3-0 in favour of Switzerland.
