Defenseman Caroline Harvey was the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Vancouver Goldeneyes at Wednesday's PWHL Draft at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.Named MVP with the women's gold-medal winning U.S. Olympic team at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games, she tied for the tournament lead in scoring with nine goals and seven assists and a tournament-best, plus-14 rating.
Other projected top picks include Harvey's U.S. teammates, forward Abbey Murphy and defenseman Laila Edwards, who was paired on defense with Farmington Hills native Megan Keller.
In all, the 235-player pool of players represents eight countries and consists of 127 forwards, 68 defensemen, and 40 goaltenders, with more than 50% hailing from NCAA programs.

NEW YORK AND TORONTO (June 15, 2026) – Ahead of the 2026 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Draft presented by Upper Deck, taking place at Detroit’s historic Fox Theatre on June 17 (5 p.m. ET), the league announced the Draft Order of Selection.
The Draft Order of Selection is led by the Vancouver Goldeneyes, who earned the first overall pick after finishing first in the PWHL’s ‘Gold Plan’ standings during the regular season, followed by the Seattle Torrent, who finished in last place in the regular-season standings. The league’s four expansion teams occupy the next four selections, as determined by a randomized draw in the presence of all General Managers, followed by an inverse order of the non-playoff teams based on their final regular-season standings, and the playoff results for the four teams who qualified (inverse order), as previously announced. The order will remain the same in all six rounds, with a total of 72 players selected.
