TNT opts not to make European finals free to watch
TNT Sports has been broadcasting the Champions League since 2015 but will lose the rights in 2027
Fans will need a subscription to watch the finals of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League after TNT Sports decided against making them free-to-air.
It will be the first time since the Champions League was launched in 1992 that supporters have had to pay to watch it.
Aston Villa meet Freiburg in the Europa League on Wednesday (20:00 BST), before Crystal Palace face Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League on 27 May (20:00 BST) and Arsenal take on Paris St-Germain in the Champions League on 30 May (17:00 BST).

The Champions League final will not be made free-to-air in the United Kingdom for the first in over 30 years.
TNT Sports, which is owned by Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), has the exclusive UK rights to screen the final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in Budapest on May 30, but they will place the fixture behind a paywall.
It also means UK-based viewers who don’t already subscribe to TNT Sports or HBO Max, WBD’s streaming platform, need to pay to watch Aston Villa’s Europa League final against Freiburg on Wednesday, May 20, as well as Crystal Palace’s Conference League final versus Rayo Vallecano seven days later, on May 27.

Uefa expects more viewers for Champions League final despite no free-to-air coverage

Uefa is expecting far higher UK viewing figures for next week’s Champions League final than in recent seasons despite TNT Sport’s controversial decision not to make the game available free-to-air for the first time since the competition’s rebrand 34 years ago.
An average audience of about 1 million watched the Champions League final for free on TNT’s streaming service, discovery+, over each of the past two seasons. HBO Max, which will be showing the Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal final alongside TNT Sports, is available in more than 10 million UK households.
