Tuesday plays out a lot like Monday. It’ll stay mostly quiet until after sunset. Then, a front will shift into the area from the northwest. This, along with the dryline, will kick off storms.
These storms will develop into a line and push south, likely affecting the Hill Country first, and then the San Antonio metro area. Severe weather is possible, with the main risks being damaging wind gusts of 70 mph or greater and quarter sized hail. And while the storms will be moving fairly quickly, some street flooding will also be an issue. Some showers could linger into the Wednesday morning commute.
A Pattern Switch-Up on the way for the Brazos Valley
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – After a warm and humid start to the week, a pattern change brings daily rain and storm chances back to the area.
A strong low pressure system planted across the Southwest United States will send multiple upper-level disturbances across Texas while also dragging a cold front slowly southward through the state.
By the end of the week, that front is expected to stall near or across the Brazos Valley. Both of these features will bring several opportunities for showers and storms across the region over the next several days.
Tuesday will be quiet for most of the day, before a line of showers and storms pushes into the area by the late afternoon and early evening. This line will continue to push southward over the course of the evening and potentially into the overnight hours as well, where isolated severe storms will be possible.
