FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Seven people were hurt ― five seriously ― in a crash near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday afternoon, first responders said.
Video from Sky 10, taken at around 3:15 p.m., showed a cement truck and a taxicab with significant damage.
One of the injured victims is a child, according to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.
A BSFR spokesperson said five seriously-injured patients, including the child, were being taken to the trauma center at Broward Health Medical Center.
Officials did not provide additional information on the victims’ conditions as of around 3:25 p.m. Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the taxi cab was stopped in the outside lane, which resulted in the front of the cement truck colliding with the rear of the taxi.
Footage from Chopper 6 showed the truck had collided with the concrete barrier wall.
According to Broward Fire officials, four adults and one child were transported as trauma alerts, and two adults had minor injuries. Two people were in critical condition but are expected to survive.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – Seven people, including a child, were rushed to a local hospital after a crash near Fort Lauderdale.
Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue units and Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 off ramp to Interstate 95 southbound on Friday afternoon.
7Skyforce hovered over the scene, capturing a cement truck, a white car and traffic in the area backed up. The white car, a taxi, was smashed beyond recognition and against a wall. Its airbags were deployed and the back door and trunk was destroyed.
Skid marks were also seen on the street and a cement truck had front-end damage.
