FIRST ALERT UPDATE – We’re tracking overnight storms
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Southern Wisconsin faces an active stretch of weather beginning late Friday afternoon and continuing through Tuesday, with tonight, Sunday, and Monday designated as First Alert Days due to significant severe weather threats.
Friday afternoon will feature breezy south winds with gusts around 30 mph and sunny skies, pushing temperatures into the upper 70s to lower 80s across southern Wisconsin.
A complex of thunderstorms will move across southern Wisconsin Friday evening through early Saturday morning. These storms will pack a punch with large hail and damaging winds as the main concerns. The strongest storms are expected west of Madison, where conditions will be most favorable for severe weather development. As the storms track eastward through the overnight hours, they should gradually weaken.
