Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: 40 new jobs coming to Lenawee County — here’s where and when
ADRIAN, Mich. – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced that 40 new jobs are coming to Lenawee County as part of an expansion project.
The Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) Board approved plans for the Adrian Steel Company to expand its operations in Adrian, according to a release from Whitmer’s office.
“Michigan is on the move and open for business, competing for and winning big projects in industries like steel manufacturing,” said Whitmer. “Today’s announcement will create 40 good-paying jobs and cement Michigan as the best place to build the future. Let’s keep working together to create good-paying jobs, bring supply chains home from overseas, and tell Michigan’s story.”
Adrian Steel Expands Michigan Operations With 43 Million Investment
Adrian Steel Company is launching a $43.4 million expansion of its Michigan-based manufacturing operations, a move that sparked debate between the White House and state officials over trade policies. As reported by Fox News, the project involves a 112,000-square-foot addition to existing facilities in the southeast portion of the state.
The investment follows recent federal restructuring of tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper. White House officials attributed the industrial growth to the administration's specific economic agenda involving deregulation and trade protections.
"Democrats like Gretchen Whitmer spent decades talking about fixing broken trade deals and creating manufacturing jobs here in America for American workers," said Kush Desai, a White House spokesperson.
