Hershey Bears will find out their opponent in the second round of the playoffs Saturday night
The Hershey Bears (fifth seed) will soon find out their opponent in the Atlantic Division Semifinals.
The Bears’ second-round foe will be determined by the victor of the three-game series between the Charlotte Checkers (third seed) and the Springfield Thunderbirds (sixth seed), which concludes on Saturday night.
Charlotte blew out Springfield 8-1 in Game 1, but the Thunderbirds tied the series in Game 2, beating the Checkers 5-2. Game 3 is set for Bojangles Coliseum with puck drop at 7 pm. All three games are being played in Charlotte due to an obscure AHL playoff travel rule.
The second round of the Calder Cup divisional playoffs is reseeded with the two top teams in the Atlantic Division receiving first-round byes. The Providence Bruins (first seed) will play the worst of the advancing teams, while the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will play the higher seed.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today the schedule for their best-of-five, Atlantic Division Semifinals series against the Hershey Bears in the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs.
The Penguins will host the first two games of the series at home on Thursday, Apr. 30 and Saturday, May 2. If necessary, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will also host the decisive fifth game on Saturday, May 9 at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza.
Game 1: Thursday, Apr. 30 – Hershey @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 7:05 p.m. Mohegan Arena
Game 2: Saturday, May 2 – Hershey @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 6:05 p.m. Mohegan Arena
Game 3: Tuesday, May 5 – Wilkes-Barre/Scranton @ Hershey, 7:00 p.m. Giant Center

The Hershey Bears have their opponent for the second round of the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs.
The Bears will play the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a five-game series after the sixth-seeded Springfield Thunderbirds upset the third-seeded Charlotte Checkers in overtime of Game 3. Calle Rosen, who was traded by the Bears to the Thunderbirds earlier in the season, scored the OTGWG.
The Bears-Penguins I-81 rivalry series will open on Thursday at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza. Hershey will host Games 3 and 4 (if necessary) on Tuesday, May 5, and Thursday, May 7, respectively.
